The People of Mathare
My name is Stephen Raila.
I come from Mathare slum - one of the biggest slums in Africa. In our family there are six of us and we live in one room. I started photography in 2003. At that time I was also playing football for the Mwelu team. Now I do both - playing football and taking photos of the people who live in Mathare slum. In future I want to become the best photographer so I can start to pay for my young one’s school fees.
