The People of Mathare
My name is Ishmael Opuka.
I was born in Mathare slum. I am now 12 years old. In our family there are four boys and two girls. I go to school at Mathare Community Outreach and now I live with my parents in Mathare slum. I started photography in the year 2003. At that time I was also playing football for Julius’s team. In future I would like to be a professional photographer and footballer. I love photography.
