The Mwelu Foundation library was opened in 2012. With the support of an external donor Wings of support we were able to open 2 spaces in our facilities that are used by primary and high school students.
The rooms offer a huge selection of schoolbooks out of the school syllabus, currently we are counting 850 books divided in different topics to cover most of the classes the students are going through.
The space offers a quiet and a calm environment to study and do homework away from the noisy and hectic surroundings of Mathare.
The students have also the opportunity to lean out books before examinations to prepare themselves to the best. The frequency daily of the library is about 40 people in average. Before the examinations and during the vacation-breaks the students in the library can be up to 80 people
