Calvin Muturi
My name is Calvin Muturi. I was born in in 1997 in a slum called Mathare where both my parents were born. I am the first born in our family and I have only one sister.
I joined the Mwelu Foundation in the year 2005. One day Julius came and asked us that if we wanted him to teach us how to operate a point-and-shoot camera. Julius gave everyone a point and shoot camera and told us to go and take photos of daily life and poor housing in Mathare.
We became good photographers and we made an exhibition with certificates. We were very proud of ourselves. We thank Julius and we will never let him down.
