Water is Life

Water

Safe drinking water and hygienic sanitation facilities are a precondition for health. Providing access to clean water forms a key part of the fight against poverty, hunger and child deaths. 2.6 billion people live without even a simple latrine. One person in six - more than 1 billion of our fellow human beings - has little choice but to use potentially harmful sources of water. The consequences of our collective failure to tackle these problems are dimmed prospects for the huge numbers of people locked in the cycle of poverty and disease.
